The objective of the Project is to increase the production and the productivity of the agricultural crops in Lucma and Llumpa Districts.
With the Project execution, the area of 1,720 hectares suitable for annual, semi-permanent and permanent crops will benefit 9,263 families whose main economic activity is agriculture.
The waters that irrigate the benefitting areas with the Project are captured from Cullupampa creek, which has a fluctuating flow, between 5.0 m3/s during the wet season and 2.5m3/s during the dry season, the design flow average of 820 L/s will be captured and will be conducted through an HDPE pipe ISO 4427 PE-100 SDR-33 PN 5 of 250 mm, 315 mm, 335 mm, 400 mm, 450 mm, 500 mm, 630 mm, 710 mm, 800 mm and have a total longitude of L=24+080 Km in length. Throughout the canal, there are lateral intakes that can be opened according to each user´s watering schedule.
